About Erasmus

Vilniaus Business College participates in Erasmus+ programme intended to improve the quality of higher education, encourage students‘ mobility, enhance staff professional development. This programme fosters cooperation among education institutions and companies, increases quality and relevance of European education system. ERASMUS+ mobility programme aims at acquainting students with the subjects of other European higher education institutions and provide opportunities to know the cultures of other countries, it gives a lot of real-life and academic experience, teaches self-study and fosters self-confidence.

Vilnius Business College was granted an Erasmus Charter for higher education (ECHE), which confirms that Erasmus+ programme aims are an integral part of the institution‘s modernisation and strategy of internationalisation, and the institution is committed to comply with all requirements of  Erasmus+ programme implementation as well as principles of European Cooperation.

International exchange of students, teachers and staff, participation in various projects and programmes foster exchange of new good experience, creative initiatives, help cherish openness and respect towards achievements of others and cultural differences. Therefore focusing on European level of studies and innovations we develop relations with partners, participate in international project-based and applied scientific activities.

Erasmus+  mobility programme comprises:

  • Programme countries: 28 EU member states: Ireland, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Spain, Italy, the UK, Cyprus, Croatia, Latvia, Poland, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, France, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Finland, Sweden, Hungary, Germany and 5 non-EU states: Iceland, Norway, Lichtenstein, Turkey and Former Yugoslavic Republic of Macedonia.
  • Partner countries – non-EU states with which VVK has signed cooperation agreements.

College‘s aim to further develop and enhance relations with international strategic partners is a key source of advanced experience dissemination. The developed network of foreign partners made the College popular in the international market of education services.

Erasmus+ programme aims to foster students‘ international mobility, to provide students with opportunities to carry out practical training in foreign companies, to acquire linguistic and cultural experience, to know the experience of European countries in the subjects studied.

Conditions for participation:

  • All VVK full-time students and graduates (in one year after finishing studies) can participate in Erasmus+ programme
  • Mobility duration: for studies from 3 to 12 months, for practice from 2 to 12 months  (overall period no longer than 12 months)
  • Students‘ selection for studies or practical training is carried out twice a year: in the fall semester (October-November) and in the spring semester (March-April)
  • For graduates‘ practical training students are selected before the finish of study period in the spring semester; it can be carried out in 12 months after finishing studies
  • Information on the contests announced is provided in the VVK website and sent to all students via email
  • Selection participants are evaluated according to the following criteria:
    • Study results
    • Level of foreign language
    • Motivation to study or carry out practical training abroad
    • Programme of studies or practical training of the receiving institution
    • Active participation in the activities of College community
  • Priority is given to the 2nd and 3rd year students and those participating in Erasmus+ programme for the first time
  • Selection is carried out by the board composed by VVK
  • Upon winning the contest a student is granted an Erasmus+ programme scholarship, partly covering the expenses of travelling and staying abroad
  • Students are also entitled to participate in Erasmus+ programme with zero scholarship
  • All selected participants for Erasmus+ studies and practice mobility have to evaluate their language knowledge online before the mobility period and at the end of the mobility period

The aim of Erasmus+  programme is to foster  international mobility of incoming students, give opportunities for students to carry out practical training in foreign companies, acquire linguistic and cultural experience as well as to acquaint students with experience of European countries in the field of the subjects studied.

Conditions for participation:

  • Applications to participate in Erasmus+  studies or practical training can be submitted by VVK full-time students who have cooperation agreements signed with AM VVK
  • Mobility duration: for studies from 3 to 12 months, for practice from 2 to 12 months  (overall period no longer than 12 months)
  • Instruction language for incoming students is English or Russian
  • Students‘ selection is carried out by the sending institution and the list of selected candidates-nominees is provided by VVK
  • The selected candidates have to submit the following documents  to VVK CIRO:
    • Application to study or carry out practical training under Erasmus+ programme
    • Motivation statement
    • Academic record
    • LA (learning agreement) coordinated with AM
    • Passport copy
    • Photo
  • Before the mobility period a Skype interview or a telephone conversation can be organized with students coming for Erasmus+ studies or practical training
