The aim of the Erasmus+ program is to promote the international mobility of teaching and administrative staff, provide opportunities for professional and personal development, strengthen international cooperation, and encourage the exchange of knowledge and best practices among academic and administrative staff, as well as the development of their competencies.
All VBC academic and administrative staff are eligible to participate in the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility Program
Duration of mobility: from 2 days to 2 months (excluding travel days) and a minimum of 8 teaching hours per week
Staff selection for teaching or training takes place twice a year: in the fall semester (October–November) and the spring semester (March–April)
Individual selection may be conducted, if necessary, based on the approved work program
Information about announced competitions is posted on the VBC website and sent to all faculty and staff via email.
Participants in the selection process are evaluated according to the following criteria:
- The content and relevance of the mobility program to the college’s activities
- Proficiency in a foreign language
- Priority is given to faculty and staff participating in the Erasmus+ program for the first time or in mobility activities that strengthen and expand the college’s connections and/or discuss future cooperation projects
What’s next?
- The selection is conducted by a selection committee formed by the VBC
- If selected, the faculty member or staff member is awarded an Erasmus+ grant to cover travel and living expenses abroad
The Erasmus grant consists of a fixed amount to cover travel and living expenses.
According to the requirements of the Erasmus+ program, travel expenses are calculated using the calculator approved by the European Commission at http://ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-plus/tools/distance_en.htm: 100–499 km – 211 EUR; 500–1,999 km – 309 EUR; 2,000–2,999 km – 395 EUR; 3,000–3,999 km – 580 EUR; 4,000–7,999 km – 1,188 EUR; 8,000 km and above – 1,735 EUR.
“Eco-friendly Travel”:
Employees are encouraged to travel using eco-friendly modes of transportation. Upon submission of documents confirming eco-friendly travel (a signed declaration of integrity and copies of train or bus tickets), employees are awarded an additional travel grant:
Eco-friendly travel (by bus, train, or carpooling): 100–499 km (€285), 500–1,999 km (€417), 2,000–2,999 km (€535), 3,000–3,999 km (€785).
Erasmus living expenses:
€190 per day when traveling to Ireland, Austria, Denmark, Belgium, Iceland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, France, Germany, Finland, Sweden, and partner countries—the Faroe Islands, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
170 euros per day for travel to Estonia, the Czech Republic, Greece, Spain, Cyprus, Latvia, Malta, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, and partner countries—Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, and the Vatican.
148 euros per day when traveling to Bulgaria, Croatia, Lithuania, Poland, North Macedonia, Romania, Turkey, Hungary, and Serbia.
190 euros per day when traveling to all other countries.
