Vilnius Business College (VBC) protecting the privacy of all individuals when processing personal data. VBC processes personal data in accordance with the 2016 April 27 Requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (hereinafter – BDAR) and applicable national law.

Vilnius Business College (hereinafter referred to as the College) respects your right to privacy and the protection of personal data.

This Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as the Privacy Policy) stipulates the conditions for the processing of personal data by individuals using the website www.kolegija.lt (hereinafter referred to as the website) operated by the College and for the processing of personal data carried out on this website. The terms of this Privacy Policy apply each time when accessing the content and / or service irrespective of the device used (computer, mobile phone, tablet, TV, etc.).

Vilnius Business College aims to ensure the transparency and fairness of the processing of personal data, so it is crucial that you read the Privacy Policy carefully and understand how and why personal data is processed.

We confirm that the data is processed in accordance with the regulations in force since April 27, 2016, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and the Council on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and whereby the Directive 95/46 / EC (General Data Protection Regulation) (hereinafter referred to as Regulation (EU) 2016/679) is repealed, the requirements of the Law on the Legal Protection of Personal Data of the Republic of Lithuania, the Law on Electronic Communications of the Republic of Lithuania, other legal acts and instructions of controlling institutions.

When processing personal data, we implement the necessary organizational and technical security measures for the protection of personal data in order to protect it from accidental or unlawful disclosure, alteration, destruction or other unlawful processing.

Terms used in the Privacy Policy shall be defined as in Regulation (EU) 2016/679.

 

WHERE WE GET YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION FROM

The College processes the personal data that you provide directly by visiting the College’s website www.kolegija.lt.

FOR WHAT PURPOSE, WHAT PERSONAL DATA WE PROCESS AND THE LEGAL BASIS FOR THAT

In order to be able to respond to your requests, examine the complaints or claims received, the College processes the data of the persons who have submitted the requests, complaints, claims (name, surname, address, telephone number, e-mail address, complaint, application content, application examination data, other necessary data). Personal data shall be processed with the consent of the individual and in the legitimate interest of the College to properly examine the questions submitted and to have evidence of the decisions taken, in accordance with Article 6 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679. 1 d. a, f points.

In order to be able to offer its services, inform about the news, ask for your opinion about the services provided, etc., the College processes the data (e-mail address) of the persons who have subscribed to the newsletters for the purpose of sending newsletters and administering their subscription. Personal data shall be processed with the consent of the subscribers to the newsletter in accordance with Article 6 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679. 1 d. a point.

The College may also process personal data for other purposes to the extent necessary for the lawful pursuit of its activities, to comply with legal requirements, to defend itself against claims, lawsuits and to protect its legitimate interests. Personal data shall be processed in accordance with the conditions referred to in Part 1 of Article 6 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679.

TO WHOM WE DISCLOSE YOUR INFORMATION

We undertake not to transfer your personal data to any unrelated third parties, except in the following cases:

  • if you consent to the disclosure of personal data;
  • when providing services – if necessary, we will provide our partners only with as much of your personal information as is necessary to perform a specific service. You will be notified of the transfer of your personal data to third parties before the transfer takes place;
  • for law enforcement institutions in accordance with the procedure stipulated in the legal acts of the Republic of Lithuania.

HOW LONG WE STORE YOUR PERSONAL DATA

The College shall protect personal data only to the extent necessary for the purposes for which the personal data are processed or to the extent required by law.Personal data shall be stored in accordance with the following deadlines:

  •  for the purpose of examining applications, complaints, claims – 1 year after the final decision is made;               for the purpose of sending newsletters and administering their subscription – 3 years;
  • in order to defend against claims, lawsuits and to protect its legitimate interests – limitations for the claim are stipulated in limitations statute;
  • at the end of the specified data storing periods, personal data shall be destroyed in such a way that it cannot be recovered.

 

HOW WE ENSURE THE SECURITY OF YOUR INFORMATION

Personal data is protected against loss, unauthorized use and alteration. We have implemented technical and organizational measures in order to protect personal data and all information you provide to us. Please note that while we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no website, online operation, computer system or wireless connection is completely secure.

WHAT RIGHTS YOU HAVE AND HOW YOU CAN EXERCISE THEM

Regulation (EU) 2016/679 confers a number of rights on data subjects. As data subjects, you have the following rights: 1) to be aware of the processing of your personal data;2) to get acquainted with your personal data and receive a copy thereof;3) to require the correction or complement of inaccurate or incomplete personal data;4) to require restrictions on the processing of personal data;5) to demand the deletion of personal data;6) when the processing of personal data is based on consent, to revoke the consent given to the processing of personal data;7) when the processing of personal data is based on the legitimate interests of the College, not to consent to the processing of personal data;8) where the processing of personal data is based on consent and the conclusion and execution of a contract, the right to the portability of personal data;9) to appeal against the actions or omissions of the College to the supervisory authority – the State Data Protection Inspectorate. In order to exercise the above rights with respect to the processing of personal data described in this Privacy Policy, you must contact the College by submitting a written request in a recommended form or a free-form request approved by the College and confirming your identity.

Please indicate in the application which of the above rights and to what extent you wish to exercise.

You can verify your identity in the following ways:

1)      by submitting the application in person, submitting an identity document;

2)      by submitting a request by post, submitting a copy of an identity document certified by a notary or a copy of this document certified in accordance with another procedure established by legal acts;3)      by submitting the application electronically, signing it with a qualified electronic signature or forming it by electronic means that allow to ensure the integrity and irreplaceability of the text or otherwise enabling verification of the identity of the data subject.

The requirement to verify identity will not apply if you request information on the processing of personal data in accordance with Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679.

In the event of doubt as to your identity or if the College is unable to establish your identity on the basis of the information provided in the application, the College may request additional information necessary to unambiguously establish your identity.

In any case, no later than one month from the date of receipt of the request, the College will provide you with information on the action taken on your request. In the event of a complex or multiple application, this time limit may be extended by further two months, if necessary, depending on the complexity and the number of the applications. In any case, within one month of receipt of the request, the College shall notify such extension and state the reasons therefor.

Please note that the rights of data subjects are exercised under the conditions and to the extent stipulated in Regulation (EU) 2016/679. Therefore, if your request does not meet the above conditions, it may not be implemented.

If the College decides not to execute the request, it will inform you immediately, but no later than within one month from the date of receipt of the request, and you will be able to appeal against this decision to the State Data Protection Inspectorate and use other right protection remedies available. In all cases, please contact us before making a complaint so as to find the most appropriate solution together.

Data Protection Officer

Functions of the Data Protection Officer

Pursuant to Article 39(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter referred to as “GDPR”), the Data Protection Officer (hereinafter referred to as “DPO”) at Vilnius Business College (hereinafter referred to as “the College”) shall perform the following tasks:

  • Informing and advising the College and the staff processing data at the College of their obligations under the GDPR and other data protection provisions of the European Union or a Member State on the following matters;
  • Monitor compliance with the GDPR, other European Union or national data protection provisions and the College’s policy on personal data protection, including the delegation of duties, awareness-raising of staff involved in data processing operations, etc. inform, advise the College on the results of the monitoring and make related recommendations;
  • upon request, advise on and monitor the data protection impact assessment in accordance with Article 35 of the GDPR;
  • Providing information to data subjects on the processing of their data by the College, dealing with their requests and providing other related services.
