Call for Applications. VBC Junior Research Hub (Academic Year 2026–2027)
Vilnius Business College (VBC) invites motivated and high-performing students to apply for the Junior Research Hub, a structured programme designed to involve students in institutional and national-level research and project activities, and to strengthen VBC’s research capacity and visibility.
Places and duration
- Places: 3 students will be selected.
- Duration: 1 academic year (two semesters).
- Membership may be renewed based on performance evaluation and available resources.
What the Hub offers
- Hands-on participation in empirical research and project work under academic supervision;
- Development of research, data, writing, and science communication skills;
- Opportunity to contribute to VBC research outputs (reports, conference submissions, articles), in line with academic integrity;
- Certificate of participation upon successful completion.
Performance-based opportunities
Based on the student’s performance during the programme, there may be:
- A part-time employment option (fixed-term employment linked to research or project activities, subject to institutional needs and available funding);
- Tuition fee reimbursement aligned with the VBC Scholarship Programme (the Scholarship Programme call will be announced later in February 2026).
Important: Hub selection, employment offers, and tuition fee reimbursement decisions are separate processes. Students may apply for the Scholarship Programme in addition to participating in the Hub.
Who can apply
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Active VBC student status during the programme period;
- Good academic standing (no academic debts; minimum GPA/average grade threshold defined by VBC);
- Strong motivation to engage in research and related project activities;
- Ability to dedicate time alongside regular coursework;
- Sufficient proficiency in English and/or other relevant languages (depending on tasks).
Additional advantages include prior research experience, participation in conferences, familiarity with data collection or analysis, and skills in communication or science marketing.
Main activities (examples)
- Supporting survey and interview-based research (questionnaire preparation, data collection, transcription/anonymisation);
- Basic quantitative/qualitative data processing and preparation of analytical notes;
- Assisting with scientific texts (reports, abstracts, sections of articles) under supervision;
- Tracking calls for papers, conferences and journals and maintaining a simple database;
- Contributing to science communication (short research news texts, visuals/infographics).

Selection
Selection is conducted through an open competitive process by a Commission appointed by VBC. Candidates are ranked based on academic performance, motivation, research potential, and submitted materials. The final selection is approved by the Director’s order.
