Tetiana Tierchkoieva, our first year international student, shares her story about the experience on LinkedIn.
I heard about LinkedIn in a Networking class, from the lecturer Kotryna, who explained all the benefits of it. At first, I was a little unsure, but decided to give it a go when I started looking for a job.
I started following companies that were interesting to me, as well as meeting people with similar profiles to mine. Some people wrote me, so we started having interesting conversations about skills, courses, ways of finding a job. I got more subscribers, even wrote a couple of posts.
I followed Kotryna’s advice to spend 10-15 minutes a day in networking on LinkedIn. And it brought the results! My profile began to show up much more often in search results for recruiters. I did not hesitate to look for the right vacancies myself, apply there and subscribe to recruiters. I received more than 3 job offers in such a short time! Not all of them were suitable for me, but I still keep in touch with recruiters and other amazing people.
So, do I think LinkedIn is useful in finding a job and building a career? Absolutely! Just imagine what results will I find out after knowing better how LinkedIn works!
